I have a track that my Fenix5 captured while I was splitboarding.
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2403349490
I want to decimate this data in place. It appears to have been stored in 1 sec intervals. Notice the total length of the trip was ~3mi however I think it should be closer to 2 mi and the 'overage' is because there is a lot of position noise recorded (for those that remember the random walk problem, this is like summing the distance of every step). In any case, i want to decimate the data down to every 5 ft or so.
Here is one messy way I can do it but I want anything easier:
Download the FIT file from GC.
Use the FIT SDK (or just FIT2CSV) to create a decimated version
In GC, delete the original activity and upload the new fit file.
Any ideas appreciated.
thx
