How do I look at my performance on a training plan or workout?

I wonder how I can go back and look at my performance against a training plan. Here's the scenario: I created a "workout" for a run - for example, "0.5 mile warmup at a pace of 9:00 - 9:15, followed by a 2 mile run at a pace of 8:30 - 9:00, followed by a 0.5 mile cooldown at a pace of 9:15 - 9:30", I synced this to my watch, and ran using this training plan ("Do workout"). I now want to go back and see:

(a) How did I do on this workout? Was I able to sustain the pace-ranges I had set for each stage?
(b) How many times have I used this workout, and performance during each of those uses?

Is there a way to see the above on Garmin Connect? The watch seems to be logging the result of the workout as a "standard" run, and it loses information about the actual workout used.

Still a newbie, so please point me to pre-existing posts if this was already discussed elsewhere.
  • Look at the "Splits" menu in Garmin Connect.

This menu is located right under all the curves of pace, heart rate, temperature etc.

    Exactly what it does.

You upload a workout (as a standalone and/or repeatable set of instructions to yourself, or a component of a training plan) to the watch so that it can direct/advise you what to do while you're recording a timed activity. Workouts have no part to play in the analytics provided in Garmin Connect, and there is no way in Garmin Connect to visually compare and contrast what you actually did (and recorded) against a set of targets/criteria set out in a workout.

Unfortunately, this is not supported. There is no link between a completed workout and the activity uploaded to Garmin Connect. I think that this is a bit of a shame, as it would be useful to at least see the name of the workout in the uploaded activity. It has been discussed before that this information could be added to the fit file for subsequent display on Connect, but never implemented.
