I have a Forerunner 235. Under Performance Stats in Connect I only have VO2 Max and Training Effects. Is it possible to add other stats here or is this only possible for Fenix watches etc?
What kind of statistics do you want? The Forerunner 235 dos not support the same statistics as some of the bigger watches eg. Running Dynamics. You would need eg. a 735XT or Fenix for that. Some data also requires the use of chest strap or other sensor.

Michael's question was the same one that immediately came to mind when I read your post. Your FR235 lacks the capability to, for example, calculate (or estimate) your lactate threshold pace and lactate threshold heart rate (but the FR630 would; I have both those watches in my household), so what would be the point of adding them to the list of items under Performance Stats when you aren't supplying Garmin Connect with relevant data, activity after activity, to show or report?
I suppose it's nevertheless possible to make that selectable item appear if you connect a (borrowed) FR630/735XT/935 or f?nix device to your account briefly.
No, the free-of-charge-to-use Garmin Connect service will not enhance the analytics capability of only what you purchased. It will not, by way of post-processing, somehow calculate your LTHR, Training Load, etc. from whatever timed activity data uploaded by your FR235, if that is really what you're asking.
Thanks, was exactly was I was asking for. Was just wondering if there were other analytics that could be added but understand now that these are limited by the specs of my FR235
