How to see lap marker on heart-rate/speed/elevation graphs?

Hi,

I am coming from Polar Flow portal to Garmin Connect with my new Fenix 5s.
I usually use Lap button to mark certain parts of my trainings, e.g. in indoor climbing.
Then I analyse my heart-rate depending on different factors.
Unfortunately I cannot find how to display lap markers on graphs in Garmin Connect. :(
Can you please help to found out how can I do this simple thing?

The only way to see markers for now, I was able to get on GPS map, but what about indoor activities.
It is so inconvenient that I cannot just click on lap I am interested in and see it representation on graph/chart...

Thank you! ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1279401.png ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1279402.png
  • You can't. In Garmin's design, laps and consequentially lap markers have different semantic meaning to how you want to use them, obviously.

    Dear ASmugDill,

Can you please shed some light on the use case?

Most runners use Forerunners and I wonder how they check lap performance and make lap analysis in case they cannot see each lap cadence/pace fluctuations at glance on graph?

It is great that you can see Splits, and each split has average/max data mentioned. But clicking on certain split/lap it does highlight row (what for?), but does not zoom or select anything on graphs.
Also great that you can move cursor and see vertical line on all charts simultaneously.
But imagine I look at splits and see that lap average pace is worse, therefore I would like to take a look at that lap and see more details. So I have to manually look at split cumulative time and search it on graph to analyze... Sounds odd. May be I am missing something, please advice.

    Thank you!

  • You're not missing anything. It would be nice to see split markers on the graphs. But Garmin Connect simply does not have this feature.

Thank you! Otherwise I started to think that there is something wrong with me :)
  • Garmin,

This is. basic functionality that you are missing. I want to free-hand select (aka zoom in) in the activity graphs to get average data for that specific selection.
E.g. I want to know the average speed, cadence and HR between 12km and 33km.

I there a way you could pass this req to your developers? That would be more than great.

    Cheers

    +1
Very good feature, use one a lot on Polar Flow.
  • Is it possible to reanimate this thread and do something with lap markers? Now I'm training everyday using cheap Simga RC 14.11 running computer and it have this feature implemented both in watches and desktop app called Sigma Data Center.

I have already bought Garmin HRM Pro Plus chest hr monitor and I was planning to buy some of Garmin watches and smart scale like Index S2, but avoidance of laps feature by Garmin is ruining all of these plans.

The only way for me is to write user javascript code to attach laps data to hr graph on Garmin Connect web site, but there is no way to attach such detailing on watches and mobile app.
