Manually edit heart rate curve

i own a forerunner 235 with wrist-based heart rate monitoring. heart rate spikes and drops occur regularly. i'd appreciate an option to manually correct these spikes/drops.
  • Try export activity into .gpx file, then manually edit all the heart rate values

Then re-import it back through garmin connect... That's how I would do

But the real problem is: if you think the Garmin watch reading is not accurate, then what IS the real number? how do you know?
