Been following this thread for several months after contacting garmin about allowing cronometer to export food data to it, and see that garmin are just ignoring us all.
MFP is not fit for purpose. GARMIN…
I don't get it, why a premium brand like Garmin forces it's users to service like MyFitnessPal, it's so bad, the Website has repeatably access errors, account recovery goes to 404 pages, the App is a battery hog (dunno if the App itself or it is the Ad-videos(!) they have to show, ads okayish, but videos?!) and the user interface is bad all around (portion chaos, bad database), cronmeter is so much better all around. If you don't offer your own counter (like even Fitbit does) at least give the user options instead of forcing to MFP.
Same situation here. MyNetDairy is far superior to MyFitnessPal. I’m not going to downgrade my food tracking to sync up with Garmin. It’s a damn shame because I have literally everything else syncing into Garmin. I have their Index scale, the Epix gen 2, the index BPM, etc. Their choice of MyFitnessPal makes me question their entire ecosystem.
I just gave up on the two way sync. There’s no real benefit to syncing calories over to Garmin for me. I started using Cronometer and it’s great. The one way sync of active calories is enough. Just make sure to set the activity level to 0 in Crono.
Yes I would definitely be in support of the bi directional data sharing between Garmin connect and Cronometer. I looked at MFP but I found the UI too busy and cluttered so tried Cronometer, it's has an intuitive UI and easy to use. Come on Garmin you can do it!
