Can't send workouts from GC (mobile or computer) to device

I have been creating my workouts in Garmin Connect Mobile (android) on the regular and sending them to my watch for ages (first the 920 and since June, the 935). No issues. Until the past two weeks or so. I CANNOT send new workouts from GC to my watch. I have tried sending it via bluetooth from the workout screen in garmin connect mobile (I click on the "send to device" button, and it syncs, but the workout is NOT in my watch). I have tried adding the workout to my training calendar and sending it via bluetooth from the calendar in GC mobile, but there is not even a "send to device" option anymore. I have also tried directly connecting my watch to the computer via the USB cable and sending the workout to my watch via garmin express....as with GCM, it syncs, but it doesn't actually send the workout to my watch.

This is a MAJOR problem and will start impacting my training, as my coach is continually giving me new workouts. This started happening about two weeks ago - BEFORE my garmin connect mobile updated to the new version (so it does not appear to be related to the update). PLEASE HELP! I have a run workout for Sunday morning that I NEED to get from garmin connect into my watch.

Thanks!
Christina

I'm unable to sync Custom type Workouts to my Fenix 5X from Garmin Connect, it says they've been sent but they don't appear under My Workouts on the watch, i'm just told to download them which clearly isn't working, I've tried BT, USB and Wi-Fi.

Is the only way to access them on the watch via Strength Training > Training > My Workouts?

Should they show in the My Calander widget?

    Any advice would be welcome.

I have the same problem as CBark51, since 2 weeks with my 630, It syncs automatically with my sessions, but I can not send to it personalized training, neither by bluetooth via garmin connect, nor by the PC via garmin express. By bluetooth, my phone says "unable to connect to the watch", and by garmin express: "unable to connect to the server"
    Thanks for your help

  • I had the same problem as CBark51, since my Connect Upgrade i´m unable to send my trainings to watch, the option "sendo to device" is vanishing !
It´s a shame the Garmin simply erase this function without any other method in substitution.
I had a 700 dollars watch to see hour and my HR ! I have some less expensive ways to do it !

I have had the exact same problem. My workouts wouldn't synchronize with my fenix 5 watch. And then suddenly they did. So now I can see them in my trainings tab. But allthough I added them to my calendar, when I open my calendar on my watch it says "dowload your trainingcalendar from Garmin Connect"... GRRR....

I've had the same issue described above for at least two weeks with my Fenix 3 HR - and now i have the same issue with the Edge 520 I received at Christmas.

Has anyone from Garmin acknowledged that there's an issue and that someone is working on it? I'm running a couple of races soon, including Disney World this weekend, and need to have this resolved.

Did anyone find an actual resolution to this? My fenix3 is having the same issue. Cannot send from mobile iOS app, or from my Garmin Express app on Mac.
  • After a period where the problem disappeared as if by magic, here it is back for a few days, impossible to send a workout to my 630, whatever the means: Bluetooth, Garmin Express ...
  • I found the solution, I had to transfer my workout to my watch, and apparently I forgot to set the target speed, I left the boxes empty (target speed 0), filling the boxes on Garmin connect fixed the problem.
    I hope this helps someone;)

I had the same problem and now I understand how it works. There are two different syncing processs:

    a) The main process sends info from the watch to the cell phone (via bluetooth), or from the watch to the computer/web server (via usb). This sends the info collected by your watch your activities data, calories, sleep data, heart rate, ...
This process starts automatically or by pressing the sync logo on top right of main screen of GConnect.

    b) The second process sends info from the GC Mobile to the watch (bluetooth) or, from the computer/web server to the watch (usb).
This sends the workout sessions created by the user in the phone or computer to the watch.
This process starts by entering in each workout session created and pressing the arrow/phone icon.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO WAIT A WHILE UNTIL THIS PROCESS FINISHIES. I used to press the icon (b) and as it does not show you progress, i pressed the icon of the main process (a), so it interrupted the syncing process b to start process a, causing the problem.

    I hope this helps.
