Thanks for another confirmation Lyle. It is certain that I won't buy another garmin given my experience and hearing that it has been that way for 2 years. I will also warn everyone else I know to stay away from them.
Given that the goal functions normally in every other respect and that it is clear that the issue lies with a simple conversion issue on the website, I can't see how and why it would not take them 15 mins to resolve it by changing the code. If there is another explanation then I would like to hear it, ie. that there is any way there could be more to it than accessing the code, moving a decimal point to the correct position.
I can understand that mistakes happen and that it may be low priority but also not very time consuming to fix for ALL users which I would think would mean they would do it quickly and then move on back to higher priority work. This kind of service I would expect from a watch that I paid $25 for, not $300.
Garmin - your support is terrible and I will continue to make sure the people around me know that it is.
