Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble setting a swimming goal. My other goals work fine. I've attached 2 captures of what happens.

Thanks,

Pls respond. I have spoken with someone on the phone, had an immediate auto response to my emails and sarcastic response on facebook. Nobody has ever suggested that they intend to investigate or fix this problem. It took several complaints to get any response in fact beyond this forum post.

There can't be a more obvious problem that occurs with the website and has no user input what so ever to blame. Is the website in review? Should I and all users expect that the swimming goals are useless for the time being?

If you don't issue you an update on the problem people (like me) will begin to despise the very thought of garmin.

    Thank you,
    TF

still nothing but a phone call saying the issue has been put forward to the developers and further sarcastic messages from facebook. they issued a "trigger warning" on my behalf. very nice.

This suggests that there is zero reason to notify Garmin about any issues with their products. I've been treated like a complainer who has no merit when I can simply show that the website records a goal incorrectly and multiples it by 1000x. I have no reason to lie or suggest Garmin is poor otherwise. There is a bug with their website that could be fixed straight away if they cared.

It shows that there is no reason to report any problems and simply take the purchase of their products as "take it or leave it", and it doesn't matter how much money you spend on their products, then they will fix it whenever they feel like it. I guess that is the only choice I have and in the meantime I can expect to be burned on top of that. I made contact with every possible support portal and they've given me a very poor response that I think I would not give myself in my job.

Any sort of acknowledgement that this happens for other users would help, even though I have deleted my history etc. I would appreciate if anyone else with a Vivoactive HR or another device could try to set a 1klms swimming goal and let me know the results (not that Garmin would bother).

    Thanks,
    BgFishy

another day of terrible support from Garmin
  • WE had the same issue, trying to set 4km as a goal, turned into 4000km, I guess they mean 4000m there.

Thanks for the confirmation. It is a website issue and it has been "passed on to the development team" as I'm told. the support is useless. there is every likelihood that they will correct only in 2019 when they redevelop the website

Having the same problem with miles. I set a goal of 6 miles (which would be 7,040 yards) and when I look at the goal it comes up as 7,040 miles. Yet when I swim it records as miles. This has been an issue since for the past 2 years when I purchased a forerunner that could record a swim acitivity. I've had to change to a time goal and estimate how much time it will take be based on my average speed. Less than ideal but only way I could work around it.
