MO2 Data in Garmin Connect

I have been getting requests for better support of MO2 data in Garmin Connect.

When we save the MO2 data using a ConnectIQ App or Data Field, it shows up fine. This uses the FIT2.0 developer data format. However, when the data is saved using a native connection like on the 735XT, 935, or Fenix5 devices, the data is saved in the FIT 1 native format which does not show up in Garmin Connect. Both formats are now described in the ANT+ profile (currently in approval process) for MO2 data including support for multiple sensors in one FIT file.

Can Garmin add support for showing both formats of data in Garmin Connect? The format difference isn't really relevant to our customers so they expect this to work both ways. Plus it's just weird that the devices support MO2 data with a native connection but it doesn't show up in Garmin Connect. The typical colors are green for SmO2 and orange for THb.

Another nice to have feature would be to allow vertical axis scaling of the data. The THb reading in particular can sometime require vertical axis scaling to be able to see the relevant trends.

Thanks
  • I agree - please add this; it's odd to have to use the CIQ fields when my watch supports this natively. The data is definitely there and can be seen in Golden Cheetah, but Connect (mobile or website) doesn't display it.
  • +1 to MoxyRoger, this would be very nice to have please.
  • I also would appreciate this very much!

If this is natively supported by Garmin in a similar way to power, that would be perfect.

The same goes for the IQ Connect custom datafield: for my training I would like to have a smoothing parameter there (e. g. 3 Seconds, 10 Seconds, 30 Seconds) that would be great.

As with Power Data it should be possible, to have more than one version of the SMO2 data in the same screen or on different screens. That would really improve the possibilities of training by SMO2 in a field setting.

    Thanks for your great work!
  • +1. Native format should be supported more. Would be nice if more devices could do it natively too like Edge units.

Yes, this would be fantastic! Here at Humon we also use MO2 data and would really like to see both formats supported. Thanks!
