Hi to everyone, I got my Virb Ultra 30 recently and I have an external mic which works perfectly as an external audio source with iPhone.
the Mic it is a condensation Boya M1, I also bought the A/V adapter cable for my VIRB.
now I do as follow:
-the mic it is attached to the audio-in jack of the A/V cable
-then the A/V cable it is attached to the camera
-the BOYA M1 it is switched to "camera" setting
-the camera audio input it is switched to "auto" setting
I recorded 2 videos, one without an inserted mic and one with the mic. no difference in the audio, simply it sucks.
then
-the mic it is attached to the audio-in jack of the A/V cable
-then the A/V cable it is attached to the camera
-the BOYA M1 it is switched to "camera" setting
-the camera audio input it is switched to "external mic" setting
I recorded 2 videos:
1)one without an inserted mic : the audio it is still possible to hear but it sucks (it is clearly NOT the audio with the mic).
2)with the mic connected: no audio it is recorded.
this means that no matter if the mic is on AUTO or EXTERNAL, no video with quality audio it is recorded. this is a bit unpleasant since the A/V cable does not cost 2 euro.
Can you help me please?
Can you suggest me a compatible mic if the problem it is the mic?
