Garmin app for apple watch? :D

wondering if we will ever see this working on apple watches...
many people use apple watch because is more every day effective watch for the modern lifestyle + garmin watch for sport activities (longer ones).

Thing is like this: yes, some garmin watches have almost everything you need, from sleep tracking to multisport mode and maps. But, what if some people don't want to use it as everyday watch, and for the 1h our dayly activity... apple watch is enough. But for the 1-day hiking or a triathlon, the garmin watch is more suited. And I want to have all these activities (regular and extended) on garmin website. ... Wouldn't be great?

I know .. garmin is a sport watch with smart features and apple watch is a smart watch with sport features. Kind of comparing oranges with lemons. ... but ... it would be a great idea to mix them :).

  • I'd like to see a Garmin Connect app for the apple watch too. Now that the series 3 is out with cellular, I would like to connect my Garmin Edge to my apple watch on rides and leave my phone at home. I still prefer my Edge over any of the apps I could run on my phone, but I'd like to use my watch for notifications and LiveTrack connectivity. I'm sure it will never happen but it sure would simplify things!

I am thinking about this long time ago, i mean something like, kind of awkward when you are Apple hardcore fans and need to wear two watch simultaneously. But, maybe if the Garmin implement this features, the sales of their watch could slow down a bit. But personally, i would vote this features

I would love it for the same reason as j0ml. To connect my Apple Watch 3 Cellular to my Garmin Edge so that I can leave my in comparison large iPhone at home when out riding. So, please Garmin hear us users ;):)

it's a pity that Garmin does not listen to its users. if Polar or Wahoo sees an Apple Watch user, it changes Garmin to Wahoo lub Polar irretrievably ...

I agree - come on Garmin move with the times, allow this interface with iwatch or lose customers! Simple.

    1. It “would” be handy for some users but why would Garmin modify their app to run as an activity tracker on another watch other than theirs? It is like y’all are asking Apple to make their Workout App to be available on Garmin watches... non sense! That would only narrow the market for their watches. If you like the way Garmin works then you stick to Garmin, if you want to sport your Apple Watch, then stick to Apple, NOW that is simple!
  • You need to broaden your horizon
In my case I would appriciate the Garmin Connect app in my Apple Watch as I ride with my Garmine Edge 530 and would like to leave my bulky phone at home. So, the Apple Watch would be the substitute to my phone during training and I could use the Apple watch to log my training and give my position to the ones in my contactlist if there is an emergency.

So, please Garmin, do develope the Garmin Connect app to work with Apple Watch. But with the restriction that it will not make the Apple Watch a substitute to the Garmin Forerunner/Fenix/Edge/etc.
