Can't Send Workouts to Device from Garmin Connect (for weeks)

Lately I've had an issue where I can't send workouts to my Forerunner 630. I get all the usual prompts until it tells me how many workouts will be sent and what date ranges, and my watch is selected in the drop-down, and I click, "Send Now" and it immediately says, "We were unable to process your request. Please try again later." and it says "Loading..." and looks like it's thinking, but it never ends up doing anything. I tried to load workouts a couple weeks ago and it failed like this, but it wasn't that important so I figured I try again later. Well, now is later and it's still not working. Now my watch has run out of future workouts loaded to it and I can't load any more to my schedule.

I googled for this issue to see if others are having it right now, but only found an old thread from a couple years ago that talked about trying other browsers. I tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome (all from my Mac) and they all have the same issue. Any ideas?

Sorry to jump in here and I know this doesn't answer the question but can someone tell me the Garmin devices that are compatible with the workouts crested in Connect?
  • I'll describe my problem and solution the best I can in case it's the same as others. I am using a Garmin training plan, sent the schedule workouts to my watch (735xt). Everything was fine until week 8 when I realised that none of my subsequent runs were showing up in my watch's training calendar. I won't bore with details of how long it took me to work out but this is how I finally succeeded in getting the rest of my scheduled workouts synced
step 1 delete activities from watch as lack of memory is the crux of the problem: this is the link for instructions on doing it on the 735
    https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=oRFoANiwdW8hd9LSqjr8X8&productID=541225&searchQuery=watch%20memory
once you have freed up space open your training calendar in connect (where your scheduled workouts should be listed on the required day)
at the top of the calendar are options for 'day, week, year' and next to them are three dots. Click those dots and select 'send workouts to device'
in my case it sent everything scheduled from 'today' onwards.
hope this helps anyone who comes here with a similar problem.

  • I'm having the same issue with my vivoactive 3. The only way I can get the workout on my watch is to add it in calendar. There is now way of uploaded it normally, I've even downloaded garmin express with no joy..
    Any solutions yet?
  • Still having this issue on my Fenix 5S, any update on this?
  • I finally find the SOLUTION.
I had this problem and the thing is that Garmin decided to make changes in sending the training plans/workouts to Garmin device.
As it said on the web >> Your Garmin devices will support the calendar items listed below. Your devices will sync when you are connected through Garmin Express or the mobile app.
So it is now entirely automatic but you have to go to your phone and enter CALENDAR and in the top right corner tap the second button from right. This is 'send to device' button and it will ask you if you want to send xx workouts to your device click 'send now'. And MAGIC will happen. Have a nice day and stay strong :)

    SAME HERE!!!
    Fenix 3 HR
  • The "send to device" option in the calendar has been disappearing from time to time for the past several months. I've had multiple contacts with Garmin on this. I get the sense that they don't know exactly what is going on. Whether in the app or the web site I click the 3-dot button in the Calendar and "send to device" simply does not appear. This has been very frustrating. It's always been a manual operation as the memory only holds a set number of scheduled workouts but it's only in the last year or so that I've been having this problem. It gets fixed periodically but then disappears again.

Same thing here. Do I have to guess that the only option so far is to keep on trying until one day the "send to device" button is active again?
