Creating Row Workout

I purchased a Fenix 3 since I participate in many sports, including rowing.

I noticed a glaring shortcoming in the workout creator piece of Connect. When creating a rowing workout, the only options you are given for a Target are: Reps, Time, Calories, Lap Button Press, and Heart Rate.

Why isn't there an option for Distance?!?! Seems pretty obvious to me why there would be!

Anyone from Garmin care to comment?
  • The Row app was never finished. Presumably because very few people use it.

Did you try using the Distance Per Stroke data field? It used to be a in km x 2. They fixed it. Now it is in metres x2. Shame they couldn't get rid of the factor of 2. It is correct in Garmin Connect but wrong on the watch.

It would be nice if someone else would report this as I seem to be the only one so they refuse to fix it.
  • Thanks for the reply...

It's actually not an issue with the watch - it's with the Garmin Connect website.

It doesn't have the option to create a row workout using distance. You can only use heart rate or duration or lap button press as the workout target.

I do row sprints: 500 meters all out, one minute easy row, 400 meters all out, one minute easy row, etc.

There's no way to create that kind of workout in Garmin Connect.
  • I would love to use it too. Recovering from brain surgery with Garmin and home rowing machine. Thanks for fixing.
