Create course improvements (for new version implemented Sept 2017)

The new implementation of create course has added a lot of overlay box that cannot be minimised or dismissed. For users of smaller screen Mac/PCs, like my 11" MacBook Air, it would be very useful to be able to collapse these overlays similar to how the elevation profile was an optional view before this refresh. As it stands now, the map that is usable for route planning is little more than 50% of the screen.
  • This is the very reason I came to the forum, even on a bigger screen the "info" boxes make the mapping very difficult to view on a large scale, the boxes all need to be on one side and or selectable/collapsable or movable

There are approx 200 members in my cycling club and the discussion is about these recent changes and how user unfriendly these refinements are. A collapsible box would be most welcome.
  • Yes get rid of the overlay tip box AND PLEASE let me set the default starting point for course creation. Every time I want to map out a course I'm starting in Olathe, KS !!!

There was never anything that needed to be fixed in the Courses section. It is now a disaster:

    1. Too many pop up boxes everywhere on the display, obscuring the whole point of Courses - THE MAP

    2. I'm using Safari 11.0 on Mac OS 10.12 and the map will not zoom in to the previous level of detail. Trying to create a course in satellite view is nearly impossible due to the lack of detail.

    3. In satellite view, the street names have completely disappeared. Not good when trying to map a detailed course that doesn't lend itself to the stick figure appearance in street view.

GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF COURSES!!!
  • Looks like you can hide the boxes :-)

Courses is still has bad as it was after the "update". Resolution/zoom is not sufficient, and the street names have disappeared in Satellite View. There is no longer a hybrid option. I doubt Garmin even monitors this forum. Just a place to vent about how bad their product has become.
