Garmin Connect- Route Builder is now very Un-user Friendly !

the new design is quite un responsive to drag and drop course alterations or deleting of any point that is no longer needed by the old way of right click /delete . It crashes back to an empty map on several occasions whilst half way through a 70m route . Very frustrating to operate now.
  • While I appreciate the new features and re-design of the Course Builder, it is true that it seems less responsive and more error-prone than the last version.

It seems you have to drag and drop twice now to make a change between 2 points and deleting a point no longer reverts the course back to the default route (according to the selected drawing method).
  • Garmin need to give up on their own route planner and just let people import a route drawn in any other package/website.

Many times a race / sportive they post the .gpx or .tcx file, yet due to Garmin's idiocy they don't let you upload this as a course. (I'm aware of the workarounds, but I shouldn't have to use a workaround).
  • I think having a functionning route planner built into Garmin Connect is an essential feature. I wouldn't like having to use a third-party tool every time I want to create a new course.

As for having an import feature available in their own route planner, well it does exist now, no need for the previous workaround. You have an import link just under the Create a Course button. GPX and TCX files are supported.

Try learning how to use Garmin's "idiocy" first ... You can already do this :)
