I think I've got some of my brother's activities mixed in with mine!

E.g. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/363072646 and https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/365629565

We both owned the same watch and ran together on this day. I don't know how some of his activities have gotten into my Garmin Connect but it was probably by mistake. Are you able to see serial numbers of these devices at all? If possible, I'd like to identify activities created with his Garmin 310XT watch and then delete them!

Please help :)
  • You haven't shared those activities public, so I can't see them.

It is possible you can export the activity as TCX and looking at the end of the xml file there is a UnitID element. See if that identifies them.

Thanks John, that was a great idea!

I can see that they are distinct UnitId's and by looking at a few activities I now know which is mine and which belongs to my brother.

If it's possible (depending on GC's backend), is someone from Garmin able to remove activities with my brother's UnitID (3858234261) from my account?

    Cheers, Adrian.
  • You can delete them yourself. You don't need Garmin to do that for you.

Probably the easiest place to do it is here:

    https://connect.garmin.com/minactivities

Or you can select them one by one and delete them from the gear icon on the upper left.

Thanks - that will be useful for deleting them but what I was after was some help to identify the activities I need to delete because they were recorded with a device that is not mine!

I'm trying to download all my activities to Dropbox from Garmin Connect using Tapiriik but so far haven't had any look. Tapiriik just staying in the "Queuing" state :'(

Once I have all the activities then I will write a script to look at each file and see which aren't mine based on the UnitID.

    Cheers
  • I personally think Garmin probably won't be able to help you but you never know.

If you end up needing to do it on your own and you are both using identical models, it could be tough to tell which is which.
However, if they are 2 different devices, you should be able to tell by opening them up one-by-one.

I haven't tried it but if Tapiriik isn't working for you, you could try https://www.fitnesssyncer.com
