Report for certain other activity

I do 3 sports, 2 of them are are not listed in you activity-catalog: Yoga, Paddling and Nordic Cross Skating. All of them are listed as "other"-acitivites.

It should be possible to show the statistics like pace, speed or heard rate separated by the activity typ.

I can only call for a report for the the avarage speed for "All Activities" but not for Nordic Cross Skating as example. As the pace, speed or heart rate of different activity typs are very verying, these statistics are worthless.
  • I feel your pain. I can't get any stats for under water basket weaving either.
  • Maybe you ought to survey the fitness wearables market for a device designed to cater verily to enthusiasts of those three sports, then.

I do not understand why the mixed statistic in Garmin Connect is a problem of the wearable. Can you plese explain?
  • If you can find a make and model of device that natively supports yoga, paddling and Nordic cross skating as separate types of activities, then the companion software will be able to separate them.

Garmin Connect is not designed to be a flexible analytics package, but primarily to support the hardware models Garmin sells as its core business. Run, Cycle, Swim are the main distinct categories of activities it will support by having separate reports, summaries and widgets, and everything else can be treated as Other as if they're not distinguishable from each other.

Well, I could always suggest you by a Suunto-watch. Suunto Movescount doesn't favour run/swim/bike as Garmin apparently does. You can do very detailed reports (quite easily in fact, so much easier than in Garmin Connect) on each type of sports (with a list at least as long as Garmin's list in Connect).

The strange thing about Garmin Connect is that you can categorise your activities as "paddling" (even in some of the wathces and then import them as such), so why will Garmin Connect just mix up all activities other than bik/swim/run?

I would like to buy a Garmin-watch again, but since I don't ever run, bike or swim, it seems that Garmin is just not for me.

    Thank you for the explaination.

Well, I think garmin is not the gear for me in future. Until then I will use "running"-activitity to getthe report and that will mess up the whole garmin statistics if they use our data :-)
  • I created a Yoga app that has more features and data metrics than the built in garmin app and works for all watch types.
Calories per hours graph and data field.

As I still miss this feature I would like to ask if I am the only one out there who likes to see separated reports for the "other" activities. Do you all just swim, bike and run?
