Bluetooth problem

Anyone else struggle with connecting Garmin devices through Bluetooth to Garmin Connect? I have a Forerunner 935 and a Vivosmart 3, and they both have Bluetooth problems. Temporary fix is to reboot my phone (a Moto G5 Plus), and then it works for a couple of hours, but then both devices disconnect again. Any suggestions?

Using latest Garmin Connect mobile version, as well as latest firmware on both devices.

I have exactly the same problem with my new Fenix 5s (latest firmware). After rebooting the phone it will connect for some time and then disconnect. Need to reboot the phone to connect. Also using the latest Garmin mobile version. Tried on 3 different phones all with the same problem. My Garmin forerunner 620 and 630 have the same problem. Moved to the Fenix series thinking Garmin have fixed the problem but they have not. Will return my Fenix 5S and go back to 630. Anyone have any solutions to this problem?

Garmin may know about this issues because at there support page for Bluetooth Troubleshooting ( https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/reHBOSC1bt83UTDHqYJZG8 ) they tell you to restart the phone. Garmin may think its normal to restart the phone several times a day to get a sync?

You might want to try this procedure. It cured issues I had with reconnecting my watch to my phone.

    Also check these settings:

Any kind of "booster" type apps where they clear out background programs or services in an attempt to make your phone faster can cause bluetooth disconnect issues.

I have checked and done both of the above links and neither of them fixed the problem.

Anyone using a fenix 5S, forerunner 620 or 630 who has a regular Bluetooth connection with their phone without restarting the phone? If so what type of phone is it?

Thank you for your replies. I've also tried the suggested steps on my moto g5 plus and Garmin 935, but no luck so far.

In the play store there is an app called GCM runner which solves the problem. Well at least with my Fenix 5S.
  • #SOLVED! Complete factory reset made it!

Fenix 5 with latest FW and iOS11 GM: Despite established BT-connection (watch-search in Connect works as continous display of actual HR) I can't sync my Fenix 5 trough Connect-App. With cable no problem. Any combination of deleting mobile-App, sign/unsigning and rebooting iPhone and watch didn't work. Any new ideas?

I was so happy that GCM runner app solved my problem. But that happiness did not last.

My watch updated to the latest firmware 6.0 for the Fenix 5S and now my watch disappears from Garmin connect. I have to pair it again to get it going. Then after a few hours it disappears. Garmin's products are awesome but they have no idea how to maintain a bluetooth connection with a phone.
