Lost Personal Best on Garmin Connect

I have a Forerunner 735XT which I mostly use as a running watch.

I works fine and when I am finished running my workout are synced as it is supposed to be.

A few days ago i noticed that the personal bests had disappered from Garmin Connect.

I had a 1 km, 5 km and a longest of 7,55 km, but suddenly they were gone.

I managed to select the 5 km run that had the best time as personal best and the 7,55 km as the longest.

This morning I ran 10 km which was synced fine, but there is still no personal best stated for 10 km, and the longest is still stated as 7,55 km.

The watch holds personal bests for 1 km, 1 mile, 5 km, 10 km and longest, but does not sync these.

Have I done something wrong or is something not working correctly?
  • It has happened again today.

A few days ago i rebooted the watch and this morning I deleted my Personal Best from the watch.

I did a 5 K run and when I finished the warch synced Personal Best for 1 K and 5 K and they appeared in both my Garmin Connect App and on the website.

Now the Personal Best are gone again in both the App and on the website.

Is there a problem with the system that deletes the entries?

  • It seems to be an issue with the Garmin Connect.

If I do a run with a new personal record, everything is synced fine and shows up in Garmin Connect. If I then change the name of the workout the Personal Record from this disappeared from Garmin Connect. If I then delete the workout and reimport it the Personal Record shows up again.

I also have a few Cycling workouts that I have also renamed but these are still listed in the Personal Records....

  • Try not changing the activity type, e.g. from Running to Street Running, while you're editing the name of the activity.
  • Hmmm... It seems that if I only change the name of the activity the Personal Best are still there. I might know in a few days.
  • You don't really need to wait (unless you want to). Obviously there is already at least one personal record-setting activity of which you've edited (only) the name after uploading into Garmin Connect, and the personal record is left untouched. Now try changing the activity type as you're wont to do, without (further) editing the name of the activity. If that causes the personal record it sets to disappear, then you know exactly what triggers the phenomenon. You already know you can delete the workout and then re-import it to put things back.
