Viewing history of runs on a course - Can you do this yet??

One of the things stopping me from using Garmin Connect is the ability to easily pull up the history of workouts on a specific course. It seems like you should be able to do this but I can't figure it out. In my current online log I use, I can select a course and see all the runs I've done on that course and see my progression/regression. I know Garmin Connect has courses and segments but I can't seem to find a way to display all the HISTORY of my workouts on that course.
Any way to do that? If not, you need to add that simple functionality.
  • you need to add that simple functionality.

That does not sound like a feature request to me.
  • Ok, I guess it should of read "If not, could you add that simple functionality."

Either way, I was also asking a question to see if it is possible to currently do that as that function seems to be readily available in any other online log I've seen/used. But instead of trying to be helpful, you want to add nothing to the discussion.
  • That exact feature is the one I have used absolutely most in connect since I started to use it in 2011. Use advanced search in "all activities" to get it.

However! With the last upgrade of the looks, it is no longer possible! I can not understand why this feature is removed =/ I presume it was an error made by Garmin, and they fix it promptly!
  • Yes, it seems like the functionality is already there...it would be a simple fix for Garmin. Please make this change so I can start using Connect as my main log.

Does Garmin ever read and respond to these messages?

Yes, but not always, not out of a service obligation, and not on your say-so. Garmin staff will reply to messages in this forum -- which is not the official channel for raising problem reports and complaints -- from time to time, as they see fit and at their discretion.
  • I would like to highlight this issue to Garmin, via the official channel. which one is the official channel?
  • I doubt they have an official channel for communication.

With that said, I've kind of found a way to do this...although not ideal. If you are diligent about naming your runs (you should be able to make names of courses and have a drop down box to select them) then you can go to "Activities - All Activities" and search for the name of the course you are running. Even more, you can choose "Running" within All Activities, go to "Advanced" and search by distance too. That works, but not user friendly at all.

Compare that to Strava which AUTOMATICALLY tells me based on GPS that I've run that course X amount of times and I can click one button and compare all those runs. No naming, no searching or anything...it just matches the runs based on the GPS coordinates.
  • Has there been any update on this front? I have been trying to do this exact comparison but can't seem to find out how to do it. Hopefully I am just not seeing how to do it vs 3 years with no update to help address this simple request.

    Thank you!
