New Personal Record Recognised but Not Recorded

This weekend, I achieved a new PB for cycling distance. When I uploaded the ride to Garmin Connect, GC showed my a 'congratulations' tile and gave me the option of accepting the new record, which I did. However, if I now look at my cycling PBs, against Distance it just has dashes as if no record is set (not even my previous one).

I seem to remember that before the GC update, you could go into your list of activities and assign an activity to a record, but I don't see any option to do this now.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

As was the case in all versions of Garmin Connect in living memory, you bring up the particular activity, in order to set it as a particular personal record.

  • Is there anyway to Set as PR for swimming activities? The option is grayed out for my swims. Any idea why?

I am having this issue with distance PRs set within a longer distance. I set a mile record within a 3-mile run last week, but it didn't show up when I logged into the desktop version of Garmin Connect. I did some searching and it seems that PRs disappear as soon as you edit an activity to add details like notes, training type, change title, etc. I recall that I edited that particular run using the app on my phone before I viewed it online. Eventually, I deleted my old one-mile record and re-uploaded the run from last week, but even without editing it, it didn't register as a PR. So then I had no mile PR. This morning, I ran fast enough to get a new mile PR (not really--it was way slower than my real one, but it was faster than nothing). I logged into the site on my desktop computer and accepted the PR. I then edited the run (I add details to ALL my runs), and poof! The PR is gone. The suggestion shown above to use the "gear" settings manager to manually set the PR for that run doesn't work when it's a shorter distance within a longer run...it wants to assign the full time of the event to whatever PR I'm choosing.

From what I can see in my research of these forums, this seems to be a long-standing issue from back in late 2016. Has anyone found a solution?
