I utilize a treadesk at work and though I can use my Forerunner 935 to track distance and time via the treadmill workout it does not register these steps in my step count. I know it's because my wrist is steady and therefore the the 935 is not registering my steps but wouldn't using the footpod or even the running dynamics pod allow the Forerunner to compensate?

I'm sure the same feature could also be used to enhance data for those who run with a stroller, walk with a grocery cart, basically anything where you are walking but also keeping your hands steady.

I would be willing to pay for a step pod. I would be thrilled for the step pod to be in the form of something that was worn on the ankle vs being attached to a shoe or item of clothing. However, I already have a footpod and RDP

Another solution might be the ability to toggle the daily steps goal to a daily distance goal. Steps recorded outside of an activity could then be converted to distance and added to the daily total.
