BSX Insight integration

I tried to use the BSX insight sensor XR2 with the FENIX 5X f(v4.10) on a run but I got no data SMO2.

I have paired with success the two devices.

Here is the answer I got from BSX Insight :

"Thank you for writing to me at BSX Technologies! I am happy to assist you with your inquires. There is not an issue with your devices. The Fenix 5 does not include a start and stop feature at this time. You will need to start and stop your BSXinsight from the BSXinsight mobile app.

Your Garmin Fenix 5X does allow you native viewing of your SmO2 and tHb from the watch without any updates. Your BSXinsight will create a Garmin FIT file once you dock and sync. At this time Garmin does not accept the file."

Thus it could be nice from Garmin to achieve the integration of the BSX insight with the Fenix 5X :

Start/stop function
SMO2/tHb data recording on Fenix 5X /Garmin Connect

I just finished a long email chain with tech support about some of this. The Fenix 5 (and FR935) natively support and record smO2 and Tot Hb. It is in the fit file but it does not appear on any graphs in Connect. I have been using the Moxy sensor data field which works fine.
They finally admitted someone goofed up and will forward the request to the Connect people. So if you want to record data now, use the Moxy data field.

As far as start and stopping BSX, that AFAIK must be done with the smartphone app. I usually start it with my phone (yes PITA), then kill the phone app (it sucks battery), record on the Fenix or my ipbike app on my android phone. When done, I use a strong magnet to reset the BSX, and then charge it. The reset is to clear to memory (prevent the download) which sometimes jams up the app.
