Garmin Scales - Why Just Measure Once A Day?

Garmin Scales - Why Just Measure Once A Day?

I want my Garmin connected scales to have the ability to measure my specifics more than once a day.

I would like to see at what point of the day I am hydrated correctly without overwriting data from earlier that day..... see what time of the day I am heaviest/lightest and average out my stats for the day.... so I don't look like i have put on 2KG in a day after a big meal

Does that make sense?
  • Your Garmin scales can measure your specifics many times a day.

Recording the data for review and analysis in the manner you may be after is a different matter. The free-to-use Garmin Connect service is not intended to be a full health tracking platform to suit everyone's concerns outside of sports and daily activity, as far as I can discern. Maybe try something like Microsoft Health, Apple Health or Google Fit, and see if any of them will allow you to track what you want electronically.
  • No. It makes absolutely no sense. If you eat one kg of food and jump on the scales you will be one kg heavier. Weight will fluctuate throughout the day as you burn energy through movement and replace it through eating.

Weight yourself once each day at the same time and track that metric over time. That's why the scales are set up that way.
  • No. It makes absolutely no sense.

There are many sites such as this one http://www.runnersworld.com/nutrition/how-to-test-your-hydration that recommend weighing yourself before and after a run, cycle etc. In which case the Index will overwrite the regular weight recording first thing in the morning with the later weight and the data will be lost. Index doesn't support this type of test.

On the other hand weighing yourself once a day first thing in the morning will give you the most flattering VO2max :) It is all downhill after that.
