Personal Records possibly not being registered correctly

Tonight i ran a PR 5k then walked 50m afterwards before stopping the activity. The total time was 29:03. The splits in garmin connect shows 28:38 cumulative time for 5km then 21 seconds for 0.05km. when i look in my PR's in the trophy case it shows 29:03, why is it showing 29:03 instead if 28:38, Strava correctly removed the last 50m and gives me 28:38. Its not that big of a deal but i don't understand why it took the whole activity instead of only the first 5k

Activity in question is here https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1849302021

In general, personal records have been acting screwy for me. Some are disappearing, while others are being overwritten by much lower data (eg, my longest bike ride is 10 miles even though I often ride 50 plus miles). What is going on?
  • I'm also confused by the "Personal Records" versus "Cumulative Time". I've noticed the same, surely if you run 5km, the cumulative time is the record? For example tonight my cumulative time for 5km was 22m 53s, yet the record according to personal records is 22m 57s which is a fair difference. Is it rounding up per split?

    Same with me.
All my records for steps are dated in 2017 although I was a busy guy in the meanwhile. I got the award vor 25k steps at one day, but my record ist still at 20k steps :D
