Garmin GPSmap 60CS satellite acquisition failure

I've had this unit for a few years now and have been very pleased at it's performance. I added a DC power plug and GA 25MCX external antenna to make this unit more vehicle friendly. Despite having the external antenna inside of my '81 Ford van I was able to acquire at least five satellites at a time.
Last May I moved this 60CS to my truck, a '96 GMC Suburban, and I've found that, despite even having the antenna on the roof of this truck the GPSmap 60 fails to connect. I've downloaded the software up to 4.20 and GPS is Normal mode with WAAS enabled. Outside of the truck with it disconnected from Power and the External antenna this unit seems to behave normally with it's stub antenna, and even works with the External Antenna in the truck, as long as I do not move.
Once the truck is in motion 5 bars quickly dissapte to Weak Signal.
I'm really in a quandry here on how to regain the service to this device, can anyone help?

Thanks and a lift of the lynch lid for any responses.
Gus
