Accuracy of Calories calculation

Dear ALL,

Do you think Garmin Connect calories and steps estimation are accurate?

Today I walked and jogged 7.42km (it showed 6,994 steps) and it says I have consumed 1892 calories;
Yesterday I merely walked 3.06km (it showed 4,025 steps) and it says I consumed 1860 calories????

I'm pretty sure the distance estimation is quite accurate.
However, the steps and calories estimate is ridiculous don't you think? :rolleyes:

Anyone has similar experience?

Thanks.

    If you are looking at the Activities view of the Daily Summary you will see Activity Calories.

    There are 2 types. One is from any timed activity such as biking or running.

    The type says "Steps", but if you put the cursor over the ? beside it you will see an explanation. It includes calories burned (figure on HR with devices that have HR and/or motion) for all activities that are not times. For example, if you where digging a hole, you would not be counting any steps, but still burning more calories that if you where just sitting.
