daily step active calories = 0?

Its weird that daily step show 0 active calories on garmin connect website version. But in my andriod apps, the active calories show only daily step calories but no count the calories from my other activities.
This only happen on my vivosmart HR+ but not on my husband's one. anyone have similar experience?
