I can't tell you how much I am distressed by your new system. I was happy with the old system and used it for almost a year.

I can't see my activities and your tech person was as frustrated as I.

It is so stupid to take a good system and totally ruin it.

I am now on my third Edge 1000. They have given me nothing but trouble.

Until today, I always thought that your tech support was the best. You have left your people up in the air and unable to help us.

Your management should be fired. They obviously don't know anything about running a company.

Garmin Connect - new web interface

Does anyone know how to change the activity type of a previous imported run in the new web interface? For example, I have an activity saved as "other" and I would like to change it to "Running" but I don't find where one can do that. With the old web-interface, it was straightforward: the "quick edit" tab allowed to do it in a few clicks but not anymore... I can choose amongst a lot of things though, like "horseback riding", "fishing", "sky diving", etc. but "Running" is not in the list.
  • Firstly it is GARMIN. Learn how to spell.

Secondly what's with all these 1-post users complaining all of a sudden. Where did you all come from?!

Thirdly the update rocks. Spend more time using your devices to get better and less time complaining on forums.

Happily using a site until the functionality I was using seems to be removed. Didn't realise that forum site now required people to frequent them on a regular basis before posting a concern. Perhaps from your position of obviously long standing member of revered staus, you could offer some advice to a lowly 1 post owner of a garmin device for the last 30 years on how to change an imported activity to outdoor swimming in 2 clicks. I spend more time running, walking, swimming and cycling and less time on my devices because I think they should help my activity not be my actiivty.
  • floor dimmer

Looks like the negatives are out, as with any update, there's always someone who prefers the old way. There are probably people who are still complaining that the took the automobile headlight dimmer switch off the floor, and put it on the steering column.

    That'll be me!
  • That is patently untrue. You can also change the Activity Type via the drop-down in the Activities widget on the dashboard to something completely different.

    Thank you

I would spell it as GARBAGE
  • Wasted rhetoric

I would spell it as GARBAGE

… and you would be wrong.
  • Hmm, I'm a bit undecided on it so far. I've only used it on my work Windows machine, with a nice big monitor attached and its ok. I'm hoping it looks as good on the iPad.

The dashboard looks better than before, its cleaner and easier on the eye and I like the search by activity name being back a lot. But the activity page is pants. Previously I could see a loads of stats at a glance, now I can only see 4 and I've had to edit the layout for different activities to get them uniform. I also cant see a way of seeing the number of steps per activity which I could before. Does anyone know how to get this information?? Its an important metric for some of the things I do.

This was I believe the only way you could see the steps per activity. How did Garmin manage to mess this up???
  • I don't see the "Course" indicated in the Activities listing like it used to be, nor is there an option to show it. Am I just missing the option for showing the Course name for a bicycle ride? I ride on maybe a dozen different courses and like (or rather used to like) to compare the times for the same course. I don't see how to do that with the new version. Maybe I'm missing something obvious?

Used to be able to search activities by course and compare previous runs. Can't seem to do that and using the search keyword with course name is not working either. I'd like the classic view back!
  • My Activities display shows date, a general "cycling" label, distance, time, average speed, elevation gain, and calories. I am not interested in "calories" but would like to see what "course" was ridden instead for a given ride. But there seems no way to display the "course?" I can see the course for each ride, one at a time, indicated when I double click on a given ride, but it never shows up in the table of rides. Wouldn't people want to see what course they rode? (Or am I the only one who cares?)
