I can't tell you how much I am distressed by your new system. I was happy with the old system and used it for almost a year.

I can't see my activities and your tech person was as frustrated as I.

It is so stupid to take a good system and totally ruin it.

I am now on my third Edge 1000. They have given me nothing but trouble.

Until today, I always thought that your tech support was the best. You have left your people up in the air and unable to help us.

Your management should be fired. They obviously don't know anything about running a company.
  • Oh, I lurrrve these threads that are phrased as demands, as if users of the (free-of-subscription-charges) Garmin Connect service has any leverage and can call the shots to suit their personal preferences.

    Suggestions

It would be nice to have a way to get a large (full page) route map of Activities.
It would be nice to have a way to print the actual Reports to a printer, rather than just export numbers to Excel.
It would be nice not to have the empty box with a + sign to add a selection (just provide an add button at the top right).

What do you mean? Easy enough to get a full listing of your activities. As before via the cog in the widget or chose Activities, All Activities from the sidebar.

    Nit picking!

Submit feature requests to Garmin if you want these suggestions considered.
  • sofar from what i see the new opdated interface is much better than the previous and actually takes less clicks to filter in activities so cannot see any issues at all
  • No it sucks, needs more clicks to get to my custom dashboard, that was done with one click in the old one..

Also having just 4 columns is a waste of screen space, why am I forced to scroll if there is plenty of space at the sides, auto adjust your design with the window size..
(If I set my browser window to fit the 4 columns and I open the sidemenu they get reduced to 3, when it close the menu there is no update to 4 again, have to reload the sitze for this)

Its showing pace without the chance to change it while I only care for speed

    missing metrics!

I used to use the website because it was superior to the iOS & MS-Windows Apps eg:
    -)Quick edit
    -)filter by course
-)black on white (instead of colour on black: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/visual-audio-contrast-contrast.html)

    Agreed!
    The new version is rubbish!

In activities I can see only 5 categories. Previously I could see everything! Time, distance, course, average speed, average pulse, maximum pulse, hight gain, height loss etc.....

Give us the old version back and fire every idiot working with stupid updates! Obviously they are not runners themselves.
  • Well, on the bright side Garmin brought back the activity name / keyword search.

Wish I could have more columns on the activity page though, 5 parameters is not enough for me.

Maybe it's your browser/OS as mine moves between 2 and 3 (MacBook with Safari) and 3 and 4 PC with Firefox. I wonder how many users have big enough screens for more the 4 columns. I've yet to check my iMac 27" retina yet though.

No it sucks, needs more clicks to get to my custom dashboard, that was done with one click in the old one..

Are you seriously bleating about 1 extra click? It's a much cleaner interface and well worth the extra click.

Its showing pace without the chance to change it while I only care for speed

Would you elaborate on this one? Hasn't running always been in pace and cycling in speed? Maybe I've not noticed the ability to show running in speed as I've always had pace as I wanted.

Create a shortcut/bookmark/‘favourite’ in your browser or on your desktop, then. Easy. It's not about accommodating your user preferences as if they are some sort of priority to anyone else. However, functionally you can still get to it with one-click, as long as you accept it's up to you to make changes and/or adapt to others' changes to arrive at some compromise with aspects of what you want.

    Goals mixed up?

Overall I am ok with the new design, nothing seems to have been lost or damaged. It just looks more mobile-device than PC oriented now, which is I think the case with many applications nowadays, not only Garmin Connect.
However, the goals seem to operate with wrong data. E.g. the calories goal for this year that I have shows I have already burned 94.988 C this year, which is about twice as much as in reality. The previous C goals seem to have double values as well now. The reports section in Progress summary for this year shows the correct value of 56.978 C, so it looks like the issue is with the goals tool. This does not reflect in km goals, which display correctly.
