Garmin Connect updated. Steps from a 3 mile run gone.

I took about a 3 mile run this morning. Came back and synced my FR 230 directly to the computer. Before I synced, i saw the watch had counted the steps for my run.

Looking at the GC dashboard, my step total for the day is at 280. My run and many more steps were just wiped out. Now my FR 230 shows only 280 steps for the day.

Garmin, please look into this and correct it soon.
  • My steps for today's activity are counted but the update removed the way to show what they were for the specific activity.

Do you know a work around to see the steps for an activity now? Its a useful metric for me.
  • No easy way except to take the cadence and multiply it by the number of minutes.

However, I never believed the number of steps per activity anyway because, for my VA, the number of steps per activity was a calculation based on stride length rather than a counted statistic. Since I tend to work out in the morning, it was not unusual that the number of steps within the activity were more than my total per day to that point.

For example, I walk 15 minute miles which my watch display shows about 1,600 steps. Connect says my cadence was 131 steps per minute. That just doesn't compute.
