Join two tracks with different dates - one gpx file

Was out hiking this weekend and Garmin died about 3/4 along new hike. Luckily, the last 1/4 of the hike is a section I have done in the past (on another route) so I thought I could cut the last 1/4 from track of a few months ago and add it to the end of the hike this weekend, thereby completing the missing end. I have tried the following without success...
- export in text file and cut and paste relevant points and bring back to Garmin Connect.
- tried the above and changed all old dates on points to current date.
- export both files as gpx into GPS Track Editor and create a new gpx file to unsuccessfully bring back to Garmin Connect.

Anyone have any other ideas (besides re-hike with fully charged Garmin)??

Thanks!
  • You don't say what device you have but this is easily accomplished using Garmin's BaseCamp program.

The unit that measured the tracks was a Garmin Forerunner 220 and I am hoping to view combined track in Connect. Have tried to combine in GPS Tracks Editor and bring it back to Connect without success and also tried to combine in CSV file and import to Connect and that didn't work.

    Thanks!
