Strange lack of certain indoor activities in Garmin Connect

Hi, I have a FR 235, it is a pretty pure running watch and only has run/run indoors/bike/bike indoors/other as possible activities. That is fine, if I do something else, I can just use "other" and then change it in the GC portal (I use the website). However, I have found that the activities that are available there are strangely lacking in ANYTHING that would be like HIIT, crossfit, kettlebell, aerobics workout etc. The only things I get are different types of running/biking/walking/strength training (using machines) and then a bunch of much more obscure activities like wingsuit flying... It seems so strange to me that ALL those indoor activities would be missing from the Activity type list, that I just have to ask you if I am missing something.
I know the "other/wo GPS" activity in my FR only records HR and time, but it would be good to be able to catergorise these activities. I don´t mind if all of those activities are not available in GC, any one of them would be ok. If they really all are supposed to be missing it is really weird, but I will have to live with it.
  • But it's a start - just to get things to GC in a proper general category.

    Hi all,

thank you for your replies. Indeed, I don´t mind the FR235 being a simpler running watch, and using "other" to record anything that is not running or biking is fine. I can of course also just leave the activities as "other" in GC and just write something descriptive in the name, eg "Kettlebells_date". That is not a big problem.
I just found it so strange that those activity types I thought would be obvious were missing (or rather, strange that none of them would be there), that I had to ask if I was missing something obvious.

I can also see the point that the watch you have would determine which activity types you would see in GC (although this does not seem to be the case, if I understand your posts correctly). However, then the choice of activities to show to a FR235 user seems mighty strange.

Anyway, than you for your replies!

Hmmm, this is the same list that everybody else has, but what I additionally see (and probably others, too) is that each of those types contains subtypes. Look at the screenshot attached below (the list is truncated as it is too long to fit). And so "strength training" is under "Fitness equipment" and "wingsuit flying" is under "Other". I wonder why you don't see the subtypes. Maybe it's a browser issue? Because it is most certainly not device specific.
  • I get the sub types too but that's not what you or the OP originally listed so I just stuck to the main headings :)

Oh, I see. Well, actually we did not specifiy whether we talk about types or subtypes or both. Anyway, the list is the same for everyone, as it appears, so not depending on device.

There is an option under settings that says "Hide all Indoor Activities", a really dumb setting if you ask me but there it was and I had the same issue.

So press running man, down arrow to setting (not activity settings), running man, then down arrow to "hide all indoor activities", then running man.
