Can we clone an activity from a previous day ?

Friday my Garmin had no battery so I did my workout without it.

However the workout was exactly the same than Wednesday and time was aprox the same.

Can I, somehow, clone the Wednesday activity but make it appear on Friday ? Would be useful for stats.

If not, what are the alternatives ? Manual entry ?
  • Thanks for the instructions.... just to help out with the question "why": I got two reasons. 1: as great as the functions are overall, my fenix at least sucks hard at recording the right exercise in the gym (it gets pull ups surprisingly, but lateral raises or butterfly press for instance it always detects as something else or not at all as a specific activity) so copying a once established routine with multiple sets of different exercises instead of fiddling with the dropdown menus post ex for a quarter hour saves time and nerves.... even though the workouts might be 2 min shorter or longer and with 5bpm more or less....

2: (the one why I was looking for a solution just now) I'm on holiday and the watch just couldn't cope anymore with saltwater and wear.... and the start stop button gave in. Now I could off course spend a day here in Spain finding the next dealer and get a new one right away instead of thinking about which model to get next and buying it back home - or I could enter everything manually, but since some of the workouts (like the morning run and the afternoon swim) are quite exactly the same every day (at least not worth to me to getting them exactly right/ can't measure them more precisely that just 'guesstimating' "the same as last week") I will just copy paste them..... when we climb a mountain or

  • so copying a once established routine with multiple sets of different exercises instead

Copying an activity defies the purpose of a smart watch monitoring and analyzing your workouts. If you have an established routine, create a Workout, and then start it when doing your activity. You will then not need to rely on the autodetection than can never work, and you will not need to adjust any exercises.

As for the buttons, try letting it a longer time in lukewarm fresh water, often it helps.

  • I discarded activity in tacx by mistake, since there no confirmation in UI and it's super easy to mess up in the end of a session. No recovery options for discarded activity. So cloning from previous one in garmin connect will be an solution.

  • Some third-party tools, like SportTracks (mentioned earlier in this thread) or  FIT File Tools. Using the Time Adjuster, you can import an activity, change the date and time, export it then import into Garmin Connect.

  • Why? You perhaps forgot watch at home or you cannot use your watch from any reason to record the same activity you did a day before for a instance.
