Garmin connect data mirgrated???!?!! need help to PUT IT BACK

My iOS app logged me out and said "my data is being migrated to China data center" and now the app and the website are both LOCKED OUT for me for an undetermined amount of time.

Firstly, I *NEVER* asked for ANY DATA migration!

Second, there is NO TIMELINE given, I could be locked out for weeks!

Third, even the website now redirects to a garmin.cn domain! I can't even switch anything back, and the login is in a redirect loop, so I get NOTHING.

PLEASE, someone at garmin, PUT THINGS BACK.
  • same problem here !!!

 don't know why but it also happened to me, do they keep migrating my data in every country I will fly to work?

    this is mad.
my scale and my fitness pal account won't sync anymore

and I don't know what else doesn't work anymore, hope to have back everything how it was.

    Not an isolated case...

...same here. Garmin Connect account updated while traveling in the UK last Thursday. Since then I had to specify China as the "authentication domain" in order to log back in to my Garmin Connect account. Now the link between Strava and Garmin is broken and can not be re-established..

Same problem. Bought device in USA, but currently riding in China. No longer links to Strava. I also cannot get he login to Garmin Express to work on my laptop anymore. I've Emailed Garmin Support, but I haven't heard back yet. This is outrageous. Has anyone found a solution?

    I still can't.
However I spoke with one of your agents in Chat and she said my data was in the process of being migrated to the worldwide server and I will receive e-mail notification once it has been done.

    @DaliAlec,

The Garmin Connect team communicated that the migration back to the world wide server, for users that posted on this forum indicating that they could not access their accounts, was already completed. I have reached out to the group indicating that you are still not able to access the account so that this can be investigated further. I will post any updates when they are available.

My issue has gone from bad to WORSE!

    Admin - Please help.

My issue definitely changed yesterday however it is not resolved in fact it seems WORSE. Before I could download the activities and manually import them into other software. I do appear to have my Strava and Garmin account connected once again - Woo Hoo!

But... Now the last 3 activities from my Garmin Connect account have been lost - there where there yesterday morning, not available last night? So there is nothing to Sync between Garmin and Stava. In addition to that, my new Garmin activities are no longer getting uploaded into my Garmin Connect account properly? I went for a run last night. THe data is clearly available from the Garmin Connect Application running on my smart phone (Android) but It did not Sync to Strava. I then logged into my Garmin Connect Account via computer so I could download the data and it is not in the Garmin Connect and all activities since 5/28 are no longer showing.

    So, as it stands now
    1) My Garmin Activities ONLY show up on the Garmin Connect APPLICATION which has limited data
    2) New activities are no longer migrating to the Garmin Connect Account that I view on the desktop computer (I have tried two different computers both of which worked yesterday)
    3) Activities since 5/28 that where on my Garmin Connect account yesterday have now disappeared
    4) I have no way to download my new Activities and upload into other software

Attached is a PDF with instructions for changing the region for your Garmin Connect account so that the data will upload to the World Wide server. Ensure that you change region setting for Garmin Connect Mobile and in Garmin Express. This will ensrue that all of your data syncs to the correct server.

If you have switched your region and still havning trouble uploading, accessing the Connect IQ store, or syncing to 3rd party websites (Strava, Training Peaks, etc.) post in this thread so this can be addressed.

Switching Data Center does not work

Switching to another region other than China would receive "We are having problem connecting to your account. Check that you are connected to the correct Garmin Connect authentication domain by tapping Advanced". Only choose China as domain can allow me to logon, but with same issues.
