Move Activity From One Piece Of "Gear" To Another?

Hi All!
I have had a bicycle in my Gear list for rides for a few months.
I built a bicycle and added it to the fleet last week, but it did not occur to me that I should add it to my Gear list.

To better illustrate my questions: The first bike is "Purple CCM" the new one is "FrankenBike". Purple CCM is (was) the default for rides, so the test rides on the FrankenBike went to the Purple CCM.

I figured out that neither has to be the default bike for rides, but have two questions that I could not figure out:
If I don't have a default bike, will I be able to assign rides to whichever bicycle I used after the ride? (Or before)
And, can I move the already uploaded activities that accidentally I credited to the Purple CCM to the FrankenBike?

yes

when viewing the activity (weather in app or on web) you can change the gear (should you have a default selected for the activity type) or add gear if no default exists.

I assume for a bike it will work the same as running shoes. I have multiple pairs (1 set to default) when I load my activity if I have used a different pair I just select the gear icon on the activity (web version) or the 3 dots at the top of the activity (on mobile app). then the option is there to add or remove. you default is highlighted or ticked you can select the other and deselect the default.

my preferred method is to have default to the most common item then I only have to change when it is not standard (I use one pair of shoes for easy recovery and long runs default and speed sessions I use different shoes)

Correct. You can have zero-or-one default bike for timed cycling activities.

Yes – and that's with or without having a default bike assignment.

can I move the already uploaded activities that accidentally I credited to the Purple CCM to the FrankenBike?

Yes – individually in Garmin Connect (online, or in a GCM app).

After reading what you wrote, it is ultra simple to do (and find). I wonder how I missed it- But I just spent 1/2 of an hour looking for my eyeglasses- the ones I already was wearing...
