Garmin segments

Can anyone please explain why my ranked time on a garmin segment is not my best time?
One example is that my ranked time of 2.43 puts me in 32nd place, whilst my best time (as noted on the same page above the leaderboard) is 2.17, which would be 2nd place. The best time was done approx 1 month after the ranked time. This is the same for several other segments..
I know ranking doesn't really matter, but there was a lot of effort went into that 2.17!

You may find that the missing data is from activities that have, for some inexplicable reason, been classed as private by Garmin Connect. I have seen this in my own data on several occasions and have been unable to rectify the situations satisfactorily (changing privacy settings for the relevant activity has not solved the problem for me)
Just another of the endless anomalies that I keep finding with segments!
