Went from FR235HR to Fenix5 / no V02 on Connect

I have had 5 running activities since switching over to the Fenix 5 and my Connect app has stopped updating V02 max. The V02 screen shows no activities for the past 4 weeks and says its last update was March 6th.

I am running the latest updates for both the Fenix and Connect app.

I have logged out of the app and back in.

All running activities are over 40 minutes in length and over 4 miles in distance

Any other ideas?
  • Similar issue

    Hi,

I just posted a similar thread in the Fenix 5X forum. My Fenix 5X does not show a "Most Recent" VO2 max in Garmin Connect either, but if I look at the 4 week view the last entry on the left shows the correct VO2 max from the last activity

The last most recent I show is April 15th, which was a 5X activity.

I have tried to remove and re-add the report on my dashboard but same behavior.

I have identified the issue for my situation, in that I have been selecting trail runs instead of regular run mode. The trail run mode will not capture V02 max, so now I have to go do a few runs in standard run tracking mode and see if that works. Will report back.
  • trail run vs. regular run

interesting observation - wonder why trail run would not capture it, maybe the model being based on time , or not enough trail running data in the models for an estimate.

IN my case I am doing normal run mode - so that can't be my issue but thanks for the tip

Confirmed. Did a run in standard 'run' mode and got a V02 reading.
  • Same problem here.
I'll try out what you said, has not been updated since May 11
    Thanks
