Activities No Longer Uploading to Garmin Connect

My Fenix Chronos is no longer uploading any activities to Garmin Connect. On the watch, my "latest activity" displays with a brief summary screen showing the activity moniker (eg a runner), miles ran, total time of run, pace per mile and that's it -no calories burned, cadence, etc. None of my hikes, walks or runs have uploaded to Garmin Connect since April 13th (around the time of the latest software upgrade), although I've been doing activities just about daily. On watch settings, I can find no place where I can remedy the problem. Pretty frustrating! Any suggestions? Many thanks.

Activities upload to Garmin Express, though.

As a follow-up to my inquiry about activities not uploading to Garmin Connect, all of my activities nonetheless upload reliably to Garmin Express. Would greatly appreciate any help.

    Your problem is not clear.

Express is a software program that runs on your computer to collect (and send) data to the device and sends the Garmin database.

Connect is a web page that can use to view the data in the database. You can do this on any system that supports web browsers.

Connect Mobile (separate forum) is an app that runs on phones. It can be used to collect data from selected devices via bluetooth and send it to the Database. It also displays the data from the database no matter how the data got there.

Thanks for responding and sorry for the lack of clarity. My latest activities as recorded on my Garmin Fenix Chronos do not upload to Connect or Connect Mobile even though these programs indicate a synchronization has transpired. My activities do upload to Express. But I cannot actually see detailed summaries of my latest activities on the Garmin Fenix Chronos, even though these do upload to Express. Please let me know if this is not clear.
  • Is it possible that you have 2 Connect accounts and that somehow the activities are going to the wrong account? Have tried doing a manual import from the activities listing??

Just because Express indicated that it sync'd means that it uploaded any activities.

You asked about this in another thread.
On the watch, my "latest activity" appears with a brief summary screen with a moniker of the type of activity, total miles traveled, total time and pace. But that is all that appears for the latest activity --there is no record of any other data, although all my data for running activities for a few days in January appear.

Based on that it seems like the activities might not be recording in the Fenix.

I am not familiar with that device. But with most Garmin devices, when connect via Express, you can open the File Explorer. Then the device will appear as a drive. Open it and under Garmin, open the Activity Folder. You should find the activities by the time and date on the file.

If you find them try uploading to Connect via the + sign in the upper right corner.

Didn't mean to post twice, by the way --initial post apparently uploaded after a few minutes and I tried to delete it after I realized this. How do you delete posts (seem only to be able to edit even though the button says, "edit/delete")?

The activities are recording, because they show up on the history section of the watch. The activities do not upload to Connect or Connect Mobile. My daily steps upload, my active calories upload, my sleep times upload, my daily calories upload, my Garmin Edge 520 cycling activities upload. But when I go for a run, for example, and press done on the Fenix, the activity does not upload to Connect or Connect Mobile but does upload to Express.

Connect or Connect Mobile but does upload to Express

Again anything that uploads to Express is delivered to the Connect database.

You keep say that they uploaded to Express (actually that should be uploaded VIA Expresss). But how do you know that. While Express does indicating that it is syncing it does not list specifically what is being synced. Express is just software that transfers data from the device to the Connect database. It does not store any data.

I would think that what the other person suggested about having it linked to another Connect account. But if steps from the Fenix are showing on your account then this is not happening.

Have you tried looking on your device for the activities and manually uploading them as I suggested.

From my experience Garmin devices don't truly "sync". That is compare data on the watch with what is in the database and makes sure that they agree. Rather they sent a flag indicating the last time that they "synced". So only new activities are uploaded even if for some reason older one where "missed".

I have never had this happen except when I changed my VAHR from one account to a 2nd account.

Thanks. Interesting thought. From which medium do I do a manual import (Connect, Connect Mobile, Express, the watch)?
  • Your device should show as a drive on your PC and pick it from the Garmin/activities folder. In wb Connect, open the list of activities by clicking on the title of the activities widget. Toward the upper right corner, there's a link to + Manual Activity.
  • Same Problem

Having the same issue with my Fenix 5x since yesterday. Activities record fine on the watch. They will not sync via Bluetooth to Connect Mobile (Though everything else -- steps, heart rate, etc -- does, and I get notifications on my watch from my phone, so I know the connection is fine.)

Activities will not sync via Wi-Fi when connected manually (even though it says "transferring.... Complete".)

They will, however, sync if I connect the watch via USB to my computer and use Garmin Express to pull the activities off.

    It's super weird.
