Using HR daily info for an activity

Hi,

I have a vivosmart 3 that I use to track my day. Then, I have a Forerunner 220 (without the HR belt) I use for my running, to track GPS info.
When Connect retrieves Forerunner info after the vivosmart synchronized, the HR information that Connect knows is not used on the activity.
I thought at first that the Forerunner would connect to the vivosmart to get HR info, but it didn't, and then no HR info added, which is sad.

ANy plan on adding such a useful feature?

On a superseded model that was originally released more than three and a half years ago? I'll gladly wager there is no such plan.

Do you have any plan for acquiring (at your own cost, of course) and wearing an external HR monitor that has the “useful feature” of broadcasting the data over ANT+? There are so many in the consumer fitness market, including chest straps, armbands and wrist-worn units among others.

The Vivosmart will broadcast HR data, you just have to add it to your Forerunner as a HRM.
  • The Vivosmart will broadcast HR data,

    Firstly, “the vívosmart” can't and won't, but a ">‑3 can">vívosmart‑3 can.

(OK, I overlooked the fact that MatthieuBrucher stated he has a vívosmart‑3, in spite of the inconsistency in subsequently referring to it as “the vivosmart” which is the proper designation for a completely different moel.)

you just have to add it to your Forerunner as a HRM.

Secondly, the user must manually initiate broadcasting of heart rate on the vívosmart‑3, instead of expect either the Forerunner watch or Garmin Connect to use heart rate data collected for the purpose of 24×7 HR tracking to augment a timed activity record.

Thanks. It seems I forgot to pair the band with the vivosmart 3 (it seems that I need to say that each time I'm mentioning that I own a vivosmart 3 in case people don't read my post properly).
    So thanks, seems to work.

Still too bad about the missing reconcile feature on Garmin Connect (once again ASmugDill, I don't expect it on my Forerunner, but on Connect, please read my post next time).

I'll gladly bet cake that what you had in mind is not going to be implemented any time soon. If there's anything you want to measure or track, Garmin would expect you to cough up and buy the ‘right’ equipment with the hardware capability to do so (and use it correctly), instead of using the free-of-charge Garmin Connect service as the glue to make something more out of disparate pieces of a solution.
