Published Garmin calendar is empty in Google calendar

Hi,

I have many calendar records in Garmin calendar (training plans, races etc.). I publish calendar in Garmin Connect (Arrow -> Publish calendar -> Publish; copy URL; then "Add by URL" in Google Calendar).

But Google calendar doesn't show anything.
Is this functionality broken?
Or am I missing anything?

Thanks!!

EDIT:

Successfully added calendar to Outlook. Outlook shows Garmin calendar, I can refresh it with Send/Receive F9 button.
But still no events in Google Calendar.. :( Google somehow refuses to show Garmin Connect Calendar events.

EDIT #2:

Same issue reported few months ago without resolution:

Looks like I'm not the only one.

Time to submit this to Garmin Support :D
  • So after two days Garmin Calendar events appeared in Google Calendar.
Looks like it works. But refreshes just every few days.

Events in Outlook calendar appeared immediately.
  • My Connect calendar updates on Google once a day, and only goes out for one month. I've just learned to accept it. Not ideal, of course, but that's the way it is for whatever reason.

Same problem here. I have added events for November and December 2017 in my Garmin Connect calendar, but only September and October events show up (today is September 28th, 2017). Anyone knows how to solve this?

I just found this on the Garmin website:

    https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/UVAoDoRAgl1d75WQc4aGEA

    Note that they write:

"NOTE: Only the next 30 days will be published each time the link is used.

If you use the provided URL to publish your Garmin Connect calendar to a third party calendar, the 30 days of published workouts will refresh each day. This means that with each day that passes, one additional day from your Garmin Connect calendar will appear on your third party calendar. This is the most convenient option for keeping your third party calendar current with the information on your Garmin Connect calendar."

It would be much more convenient if it was not just the next 30 days that are visible, but the whole calendar... Looks like it's time for a feature request...
  • This sounds like a bit of a train wreck. Anyone have a good link with an example of a third party usage to get things ultimately back to Google Calendar?

  • Is there something that isn't working? I checked now and I can see my planned workouts in Google Calendar.

  • I don't know who plans their workout schedule in Garmin .. that seems like and edge case / unusual feature. But as a new Garmin smartwatch user I would have assumed the primary use case for calendar integration or basic exporting is just show the record of the activities you log. There doesn't even seem to be a way to export Activities and manually import to Google Calendar

  • If you follow one of Garmin's training plans (https://connect.garmin.com/modern/training-plan) your training plan will be in the calendar. There are also several 3rd party services that can push training plans to Garmin. They will also be visible in the calendar. So, that is probably how most people use that function.

I don't know about any function to export your training history from Connect to Google Calendar.
