Garmin Connect Runs Will Not Sync with Nike+ App

I have spoken to customer support both for Garmin and Nike +, but no one can seem to fix the issue. In October 2016 my runs stopped syncing from Garmin Connect to the Nike + App. I run with a Garmin Forerunner 235. The apps are paired and the runs used to sync. I have tried the manual uploader and got an error message. Any ideas on how to fix this? Super frustrating.
  • I am having the same issue with my Garmin connect App.

I haven't been able to sync with Nike+ since October also.

    The same issue, but...

I have the same issue (using a Fenix 3 HR), but I made a mistake choosing my last activity. I selected Trail Raunning instead of Running and... Surprise! The Sync works.
I created another activity mode but based in Running and again does not work.

    I don't understand...

Same here. Fenix 3. Last activity to sync from Garmin Connect is Nov, 23, 2017.

What's up Garmin? If you want to be the "one ring to rule them all" you gotta make sure it works.

Same here, I have the same issue using a Fenix 5X. When I have a Treadmill activity, it syncs OK, but when it comes to usual Run activity, the Sync doesn't work......
  • I am having the same issue. When I first setup my watch without touching any settings, it synced the runs. There were 3 of them that made it through. Now only other types of workouts get synced.

I believe something in the data isn't being handled by NikePlus correctly. I might play around with different run settings to see if I can figure it out.

For now I am exporting GPX files and uploading them via https://www.awsmithson.com/tcx2nikeplus/. Not ideal but it works.
  • As I suspected, by removing any 3rd party data fields, I was able to get it to sync to Nike plus correctly. So it seems like an issue on Nike’s end. Good luck with them fixing it. I think the only way to get around it is to manually sync via the method I described above.
  • Ah thanks - I have added battery up down data field and that seems to have coincided with my runs not syncing to Nike. You would think it would just disregard data fields that don’t match!!
  • I know this is an old post, but it’s the top hit in google and I was still running into this issue with my trusty forerunner 235.

I tried “log out NRC uninstall NRC and then restart” fix and it didn’t work.

I tried a bunch of other random stuff from around the internet and non of it worked.

What fixed it for me was me being a dummy.

I realised that when I hit the ‘run’ button on my watch it was categorising my excercise as ‘other’ rather than ‘outdoor run’ or just ‘run’. As soon as I made this change (by hitting the up/down arrows in the watch when I’m the activity) Garmin started syncing with NRC.

Hope my stupidity helps someone somewhere !
