Can confirm. REALLY MADDENING. When I corrected this in the app it wiped my stored workouts.
You can end up here IF you setup your Garmin device on your phone before you setup a Garmin account. I only have on account, but for some reason Garmin created a unique account ID for my phone app and one for my web login.
Garmin should address this...
I can confirm that in 2021 this is still happening. I thought I set up a web account first, but apparently even though I used the same email address, signing in as a google account on the garmin connect on android is different. All my devices sync to my Garmin connect Android and there is nothing in my Connect Web. I now have 6months worth of data that I do not want to lose, but I do want to fix this.
Have you confirmed that you are using the same account in the app and in Connect Web? The most common reason to this error is that you've created a new account. It happens very often.
Are you using a gmail address with any + signs in it?
What does it say at the top if you go to Settings->Device Sync Audit? It should say username and email address or similar. I got a really old account so it just says [username]/[username]. If you got a username then try using that while logging in to the web.
The data in the app is not stored in the app so you will not lose it even if you uninstall the app. It is stored in a server online. The app and Connect Web are just displaying that stored data.
Hi, I do have similar problem, the GCconnect app on my phone is not syncing with my GConnect on the web. It happened when I changed my phone.
I have roamed around and tried many ways, including with a long convo with Garmin support but to no avail.
I found this forum thread and verified my profile code. Found that my profile code on the web is different from the code in App Diagnostics.
So I would like to know how I match the profile code.
I am using similar email address and name. I just do not know how could it be different.

Are you using a similar or the exact same email address? It MUST be the exact same email address.
Logout from both the app and web and then login again with the exact same email address.

Yes, using similar, exact email address. Have done logging in/out in multiple times but it didn't help.
I can see that my profile picture of GC app and on web have matched, totally similar.
