'Intensity minutes' recording on different devices

I've been using an Edge 1000 for some time to record my cycling, and I recently bought a Vivosmart HR+ to record other activities. Yesterday I did a 40Kms bike ride which I recorded with the Edge 1000, and after syncing with Garmin Connect I expected this to appear in my weekly 'Intensity minutes' total. It didn't do so, despite successful syncing of both devices.

Is it possible to change my settings so that high intensity cycling recorded using my Edge can be added to my weekly/monthly 'Intensity minutes' totals (logic tells me this really should be possible)? Or do intensity minutes refer only to those activities recorded on my Vivosmart HR+?

Thanks

Intensity Minutes are calculated on the device. And only those that include fitness features include it which are the "watch" type of devices.

Depending on what you want to track and how accurate there are a couple of poor workarounds.

One is to ware the VS at the same time and flag it as cardio or something different than a bike ride.

I have a VAHR and use it to take several activity beside cycling. And I have an edge 500. And I like to track by cycling on Strava, but I every activity, not just the cycling, get links to Strava.

So I setup a new account for the VAHR that is not linked to Strava and keep my old one just for the Edge and cycling.

It is a PITA if you want to switch back and fore on Connect between the 2. But I keep my VAHR Connect open and record a version of biking on it, and only look at my Edge data on Strava.
