Create Segments issues

I'm trying to create a segment using Garmin Connect
I go to Activities, according the instruction from Garmin, I must select Create Segment under the segment tab at the very bottom of the screen, Unfortunately I cannot find create segment tab.
Can anybody figure out what I'm doing wrong?

    I would still be interested to know if anyone else knows if segment performance for "Only Me" activities can be seen by everyone else.

    It works in a similar fashion to Strava, if you complete a segment but your activity is private, you get a time, but don't show in the rankings. If your activity is shared amongst your connections, they will see your time.

    Hello guys,
    I did have the same problem (no segments tab), but finally yesterday discovered why!

    The source of the problem is link of your garmin account to strava. If they are linked, GC shows only strava segments and if your strava account is not premium one, then you can do practically nothing with them :-((

    So if you want to create a use garmin segment, do this:
    1) From "GC account settings > account information" remove permission for strava application
    2) Now the segments tab and link for creating new segments should appear...
    3) Create segments according to instructions stated above or found elsewhere - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Louu_81XsII
    4) Mark favorite segments, send them to your device and do actions that are inaccessible without the segment tab ;-)
    5) From "strava > settings > my apps" revoke access to GC and then re-create it again. Click "Connect with Garmin"
    6) Now the segment tab should disappear again...

    For those who want to experiment more - in settings of "segments" tile in GC there is an option "Use Garmin segments" that should probably change someting, but after clicking it does nothing for me... why it is not working? what should it do? :-(

    Solamyl thanks for your post, I also experimented with segments settings in GC, but the change to "Garmin segments" did not materialized. I had to follow your steps (revoke access and then re-create it again) in order to see the segments tab again.

    Thanks Solamyl, disconnecting Strava did the trick for me and I was able to then view the segments tab. I'm not a Strava Premium member.
    This is really ridiculous that this can't just work properly. Why is it one or the other? Garmin really needs to start getting their ass in gear for the premium they charge on their products or my next device might just be a Suunto.

    Thanks Solamyl for this but unfortunately this only solves half my problem. I can now create segments again but when I try to send them to my Edge 820, Garmin Express says it is unable to do so because they are "not compatible". Anyone else have this and are there any solutions?

    It´s working. But I´m rather sure that it was possible in the past to be connected to strava and also to create segments.You had been able to switch on dashborad between strava segments and garmin segment. This is still shown but not working...

    I had the same problem and removing the Strava link brought back my segments.

    I'll just add that I couldn't find any way to unlink Strava on the Garmin Connect Website. I had to do it through the iOS App.

    hello everybody.

    I am new, so i am trying to create a segment and did whole things that you said in the posts.

    1. I putted the activity public.
    2. I do not have strava but search the option to disable it.

    But i cant see the segment tab.

    I am using a motorsport actitivy by fbbbrown.
