Setting a privacy zone

Just wanted to share this new feature!

You can now set a privacy zone (in the same way as it is possible on Strava).

This way no one will be able to see our home address when you share a workout in public!

I think this is really nice! I haven't shared any kind of runs in public when I started from work or home - this way I will be able to share a file if I want to! Great work Garmin!

How to set privacy zones? Follow this link:

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/privacySettings

and "+ Add New Zone".

Doesn't seem to be working for me, I set a privacy zone, shared the route and still shows the exact start point that is inside the privacy zone. Anyone else tried this yet?

EDIT: I just tried this on an activity and it seems to be working, my previous statement was regarding a "Course", it is not keeping the private zone private in a course.

Yes, it will be just great until Garmin has a bug that shares your info! And we all know how Garmin likes to make changes at ANY time without ANY notice and without solid testing.

Isn't that exactly what it says on the tin, and the scope of what one would reasonably expect?

it is not keeping the private zone private in a course.

It sounds rather silly to try (or purport) to share a course without telling others exactly where to start.

This might be a silly question - does this hide my privacy zone from my connections & groups too or it works only if the activity is shared with everyone?
