Segment Rankings not working:

I keep coming back to this to see if it is working but seems like it is still not working. Does anyone know what is going on.
I'm participating in segments:
1) Activity is public (made public after ride completed)
2) Privacy setting is to participate in segments
3) Garmin Connect says I have crossed a segment and gives me a time for the segment
4) THE ISSUE - I don't get ranked on the segment and I don't show up in the leader board.

Is this an ongoing bug? Has Garmin provided feedback relating to the issue? The only thing I can think to try is to set the default for new activities to public instead of changing them to public after the ride.

    Same with me. For about a year or so I have been excluded from the segment ranking now. Plus, today I can´t even have a view at the segments. Even my profile is hidden. GC just shows a blank screen. Very disappointed. No reason to upgrade from my forerunner 10 ;-).

    Are segment rankings working for you?

    It might be useful to hear from folks that use segments and the segment matching, ranking, and leader board placement seems to consistently work for you.
    Please share your profile and activity settings that may impact being ranked or any other suggestions.

    I also have problems with my segments not showing up on the rankings. Slower more recent segments are ranked but older ones are not. This issue has been going on for a long time now.

    Garmin first level feedback

    I contacted Garmin on this by email pointing them to one of my activities. They agreed it should have qualified for ranking. It was going to be forwarded on to technical folks to look into and was told I would be contacted when they have more info.

    Segment ranking for me is a very hit and miss affair. Of the 33 segments I have created and been ranked on in the past, I can now see rankings for only 6.

    My Segment data (and everyone else's) over 12 months old disappears as it reaches this magic age (and no, changing the date filter does not affect this (although the 30 day filter does work).

    I am aware that a newly created segment only looks back for 12 months data - this is not the issue.

    For some segments I can see as many as 4 current (ie in the last 12 months) data entries if I select "Me Only" but I am unranked if I select "Everyone"

    I have contacted Garmin re these issues in the past without success - I have now given up hope of Segments working properly.

    Sounds like Garmin doesn't have the resources right now to deliver this functionality. Maybe it would be easier to team up with Strava.

    I discovered today I still can see my segment rankings but I do not see the other users anymore on the ranking list. For example earlier I have seen that I am 9th on a segment and I also seen the others name, rank and time on that segment.
    Now I see only my rank but I do not see who was faster than me and what was her/his time.
    Is this the same for all users? Is this a privacy protection measure from Garmin??
    In this way there is no too much sense of ranking because I do not know how many should I faster for step up on the list.

    OK, now I see I have to select Everyone to see the others but every people on the list have the same time and speed :-o
