Steps: Calories reported from Steps from Garmin Connect into MyFitnessPal

Using my new Fenix F5x. My garmin connect account is linked to myfitnesspal.com I noticed something different with the F5x vs my old F3. The steps that MFP gets from GC are in sync. And perhaps the calories are as well.

What I find interesting/wrong is that on GC is I have say about 3000 steps walked, my "Active" calories are like 370. That is far far far more than anyone should have just from steps.

I checked my Height and Weight in GC and its accurate. I dont understand where the "active calorie" count is coming from. It seems really high.
  • Put your courser over the question mark by "Daily Steps"

The activity calories do not come just from steps. But from any increase in HR or movements that are not measured by a timed activity.
  • How do you put cursor over on the GC mobile?

How to do you find this information on garmin connect mobile?

I have also logged into Garmin Connect on the desktop. Something I dont do, but rarely. I will admit I didnt actually see anything that said "Daily steps", so of course, didnt see a question mark. Where/how do I have Daily Steps from the Dashboard?
  • There are separate forums for the mobile versions of connect, so I assume that you where using the web version.

I checked on the android versions and did not see where they break out the calories like they do on the web.

On the web there are a number of "daily-summary" pages available, but only some of them are listed in the left drop down list.
This is one of the hidden pages.

On the drop down list (upper left, 3 bars) select full view Calories In/Out, then select Activities.
  • Connect desktop vs mobile

My bad, I didnt realize that there was a separate GC desktop vs Mobile forum. almost posted my question to the F5x forum, but at least had the sense to think its more GC. Thanks for heads up.
