Hide Home Location - Radius Around Home Privacy

In adobe photoshop lightroom, I can specify a radius around my home so that any photographs taken at my home address will have my GPS coordinates masked and people on the internet will find it harder to discover where I live. Would it be possible for the Garmin Connect website to do something similar, so that if I specify a location to mask, a 0.5 mile radius (or more or less) within that location blanks off any tracklogs and only my connections or myself can see it?

If this isn't clear, let me know and I'll elaborate in greater detail.
  • It is possible for GARMIN to do that, but it is currently not possible. Suggest you submit as a feature request as has been done before. Or move to another platform such as Strava, which will allow you to do that. Not sure if you have to pay for that feature though.
  • One work around is to make all of your activities private Connect. Then use Strava to link to Connect.

You can make them public on Strava and add a home mask.
  • Another work-around is simply not to start recording until the user deems himself to be outside of the intended ‘privacy mask’ area.

In privacy options on the Garmin Connect website, it now honours a privacy radius zone which is great if someone else is looking at it. If I export my own activity as a GPX file, the privacy radius zone is not honoured.

To have my home location hidden from myself would be useful. I know it sounds absurd, but then I could export GPX files and upload them on my website without having to worry about my home location being in there.

I can circumvent this by adding myself as a friend and exporting my own GPX files, I think.
